Tell me how many seats you need · 30-day evaluation included
tui module on its own
Build your own terminal apps on the interface Girl uses: tabs, markdown, diff cards and a command palette. Per seat per year, on request. People who only run your app don't need a seat.
Which one do I need?
I use Girl at work. Commercial, whether you're employed, contracted or it's your own company.
I'm a freelancer. Commercial for client work. Your unpaid side projects can use the Free Tier.
I maintain an open source project. Free, as long as the project isn't monetized. Paid support or a commercial edition makes it commercial.
We run it in CI. Covered by the seats of the people who set up and maintain that automation.
I want Girl's tui module in my own app. Every Girl seat includes it, or license it on its own, per seat. It isn't open source and has no free tier outside Girl.
What about tools and modules from luaxe.dev? They carry their authors' own licenses.
Girl End User License Agreement
Version 1.1 · effective 28 September 2026
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between the author of Girl ("Licensor", "we") and you, the person or organization that installs or uses the Software ("you"). By installing or using the Software you accept this Agreement. If you use the Software for an organization, you accept it on the organization's behalf and confirm that you are authorized to do so.
1. Definitions
- "Girl" means the Girl coding agent (
girl.exe). - "tui Module" means the
tuiterminal interface module that Girl is built on, for use in your own applications. - "Software" means Girl and the tui Module, their documentation and any updates we provide, in whatever form they reach you.
- "Free Tier" means the no-cost license in section 3.1.
- "Commercial License" means the paid license in section 3.2.
- "Commercial Use" means any use of the Software in connection with an activity carried
out for profit or payment, including:
- use by or for a company, a partnership or a self-employed person;
- use as part of paid work, whether you are employed, contracted or freelancing;
- building, maintaining or supporting products or services that are sold, licensed, advertised or otherwise monetized.
- "Seat" means one named natural person who is permitted to use the Software.
- "Output" means code, text and other results produced while you use the Software.
2. Two tiers
You may use the Software under exactly one tier at a time:
- Free Tier: for use of Girl that is not Commercial Use.
- Commercial License: required for any Commercial Use of Girl and for any use of the tui Module.
If you are unsure which tier applies, assume the Commercial License and contact us at licensing@nebelwolfi.xyz.
3. License grants
3.1 Free Tier (fair use)
Subject to this Agreement, we grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Girl on devices you control, for:
- personal projects that earn you no money;
- learning, teaching and academic research at schools and universities;
- open source projects that are not monetized; and
- the non-commercial activities of registered non-profit organizations.
Fair use applies. You may not use the Free Tier to provide Girl, or access to it, to third parties, and you may not use it for Commercial Use of any kind. The Free Tier does not cover the tui Module, except as the part of Girl that Girl itself runs.
3.2 Commercial License
Commercial Use of Girl, and any use of the tui Module, requires a Commercial License for every Seat that uses them. Commercial Licenses come in two kinds:
- Girl: covers Girl and the tui Module.
- tui: covers the tui Module on its own.
Subject to this Agreement and payment of the fees, we grant the licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, for the paid term, to let the licensed number of Seats install and use the Software their license covers for the licensee's internal business purposes, including work for the licensee's customers.
- A Seat is tied to one person. It may be reassigned when that person no longer needs it, but not shared or used concurrently by several people.
- Automated use, such as running the Software in continuous integration, is covered by the Seats of the people who configure and maintain that automation.
- Commercial Licenses run for one year from purchase and renew for another year unless cancelled before the end of the current term.
3.3 Applications built with the tui Module
Seats licensed for the tui Module may use it to develop the licensee's own applications.
- The licensee may distribute the tui Module only as part of such an application,
compiled into it (for example with
lxe compile), and not as a library, toolkit or framework that lets others build on the tui Module. - People who only run such an application need no Seat.
- Copies of an application distributed during a paid term may still be used after the term ends. New versions that include the tui Module need a current Commercial License.
3.4 Evaluation
An organization may evaluate the Software for Commercial Use free of charge for 30 days before buying a Commercial License. Output created during the evaluation may be kept. Applications that include the tui Module may not be distributed during the evaluation.
4. Restrictions
Unless mandatory law allows it despite this clause, you may not:
- sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute the Software, or offer it as a hosted service, except as section 3.3 permits for the tui Module;
- publish the source code of the tui Module, or disclose it to anyone other than the licensee's Seats;
- remove or change license notices, or circumvent any licensing mechanism;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the Software, except where mandatory law permits it; or
- use the Software in violation of applicable law or the terms of third-party services you connect it to.
Extending the Software through its documented configuration, hooks, tools and APIs is not a modification under this section and is expressly permitted.
5. Ownership and your Output
The Software is licensed, not sold. We, and our licensors, keep all rights, title and interest in it. You own your Output, as far as the law and the terms of the model providers you use allow. We claim no rights in it. You also own the applications you build with the tui Module, except for the tui Module itself.
6. Third-party services and components
- Model providers. Girl sends your prompts, files and other context to the model providers you configure. Those providers' terms, prices and privacy policies govern that data and any costs they charge. You are responsible for your provider accounts and fees.
- Community tools and modules. Tools and modules from luaxe.dev or elsewhere are third-party content under their own licenses. We don't review them unless they are marked verified. You run them at your own risk.
- Bundled components. The Software is built with LuaXE and bundles components under their own licenses.
7. Fees and payment
Commercial Licenses for Girl and for the tui Module are priced per Seat per year on request. Contact licensing@nebelwolfi.xyz for a quote. Fees are as agreed in the quote, plus applicable taxes, and are payable in advance for each term. We may change fees for future terms with at least 30 days' notice before renewal.
8. Updates and support
We may provide updates, but we have no obligation to under the Free Tier. Commercial licensees receive the updates we release during their term, and email support at licensing@nebelwolfi.xyz on a best-effort basis.
9. Your responsibilities when using an agent
Girl can read and change files and run commands on your behalf, within the permissions you configure. You are responsible for:
- choosing appropriate permission settings;
- reviewing changes and commands before relying on them;
- keeping backups of your data; and
- checking that your use of Output complies with law and third-party rights.
AI-generated Output can be wrong, insecure or similar to existing works.
10. Warranty
- Free Tier. Girl is provided free of charge, as is. We are liable for defects only if we fraudulently conceal them.
- Commercial License. The statutory warranty for defects applies. The Software is free of defects if it essentially works as described in its documentation. We remedy defects by fixing them, providing a workaround or delivering a new version.
11. Liability
- We are liable without limitation for damage caused by intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under mandatory product liability law, and under any guarantee we have expressly given.
- Commercial License only. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation that is essential to the purpose of this Agreement and on which you may regularly rely (a cardinal obligation). This liability is limited to the damage typical and foreseeable when the Agreement was concluded, and in total to the fees paid in the twelve months before the damaging event.
- Free Tier. We are not liable for slight negligence.
- Liability for loss of data is limited to the effort needed to restore it from backups that you made regularly and appropriately to the risk.
- These limits also apply to our employees, representatives and agents.
12. Term and termination
- This Agreement applies for as long as you use the Software.
- You may stop using the Software at any time.
- We may terminate your license if you materially breach this Agreement and don't cure the breach within 14 days of notice. If the breach cannot be cured, we may terminate without notice.
- On termination you must stop using the Software and delete your copies.
- Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Consumers and governing law
- Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the country where the Licensor has their place of business. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
- Consumers. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of that country's law. Nothing in this Agreement limits the statutory rights of consumers.
- Venue. If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is the Licensor's place of business.
14. Changes and earlier versions
- Changes. We may publish new versions of this Agreement. A new version applies to versions of the Software released after it takes effect. A running Commercial License term continues under the version that applied when the term began.
- Severability. If a provision of this Agreement is invalid, the rest remains in effect, and the statutory provision takes its place.
